An open call for twenty creatives...

Studio Cosmos is inviting twenty people from across the creative community to take part in Wear Study 001: Indigo—an evolving photography project exploring the relationship between creativity, clothing, work and time.

Studio Cosmos creates genderless two-piece uniforms from organic cotton selvedge denim.

Each uniform begins as a blank canvas. As it is worn, the fabric records the life of its wearer through fading, creases, movement, spills, marks, repairs and everything that happens along the way.

For our first wear study, we will follow twenty creatives and their indigo uniforms over a period of three to six months.

THE PROJECT

Each participant will be photographed with their uniform at three stages:

• On day one, while the indigo denim is completely new
• Wearing it within their own creative environment
• After three to six months of work and wear, documenting how both the garment and its relationship with the wearer have evolved

Participants will also be invited to share a short, honest reflection on the fit, their experience of wearing the uniform and the story behind the marks it acquires.

WHAT PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE

Each selected participant will receive a complete indigo Studio Cosmos uniform to keep:

• One genderless denim jacket
• One pair of trousers
• Choice of drawstring or zip waistband
• Choice of regular or long leg length
• Sizes XS–XXL Unisex

The complete uniform will normally retail at £355. Selected Wear Study participants can purchase their made-to-order set for the special project price of £150.

Garments are expected to take approximately 6–8 weeks to produce after measurements, choices and payments have been confirmed.

THE COMMITMENT

Participants must be willing to:

• Take part in the day-one photography session
• Be photographed wearing the uniform in their creative environment
• Continue wearing and living in the garment for 3–6 months
• Return for the follow-up photography session
• Provide a short, honest written or recorded testimonial
• Permit Studio Cosmos to publish the resulting photographs, films and words across its website, social media, press and campaign materials

A full participation agreement will be provided before payment or production begins.

WHO CAN APPLY?

We want to hear from artists, musicians, DJs, photographers, ceramicists, designers, tattooists, writers, performers, makers, cooks, gardeners and creative people working in every medium.

You do not need to be a model or have a perfect studio. We are interested in real people, real creative spaces and garments that become individual through real life.

We particularly welcome a broad range of genders, ages, body types, backgrounds and creative disciplines.
